This listing is for a RARE opportunity to own an amazing pair of mid-century modern boudoir lamps with original fiberglass atomic shades. The lamps are circa 1950s and despite some minor issues they are in overall beautiful, vintage condition. The lamps are approximately 18.5 to 19 inches tall with the shade on. The shade is approximately 10 inches across the top. This is a 3-way lamp. The base lights up, the top lights up, and you can have them both on at the same time to set the perfect mood. The main body of each lamp is made of glass with a metal mount on the bottom. The bodies appear to be in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks or chips. The fiberglass shades are also in excellent condition with no holes or cracks. There are a few light stains in a few spots but they can be turned to the back and I have not attempted to remove them by cleaning. The metal bases have some oxidation in some place as photos show. I tried to show the worst of the worst on one of the lamps. Both lamps have some of the oxidation in places. Again, I have not attempted to clean the oxidation but I would assume it will not come off. The lamps look beautiful as they are, but it would be simple to remove the bases and spray paint them if you want them to look perfect. The only other issue is that while the cords work and are not brittle, they are original and if I kept the lamps I would replace them. I didnt do that because some purists like to do that themselves. In addition, I would use a gold-colored cord while the originals are white. So I will let lucky winner choose the color for themselves. One of the cords was cut and a new piece was spliced in. Again, works fine but I would replace it. The base of the lamps are lit with a common nightlight 4 or 5 watt bulb. In the end, I really like the green bulb best and that is what I took photos with and that is what lucky winner will receive. I will leave those in. They are very simple to take out and replace as you see fit. I could go on and on about this pair of fine lamps. They are so incredibly beautiful! To find one of these lamps in this condition is a great find. But to find a pair is a rare opportunity indeed! Mid Century Modern Imperialite Atomic Swag Lamp Cone 1950s Chandelier Vintage
Incredible original vintage mid century modern swag lamp with three perforated brass cone downlights and three uplights with glass disks, all attached to a wooden and brass frame with four way switch on the bottom. Not marked, but I believe it was made by Imperialite. Lamp is in good working condition, and uses three standard medium base light bulbs (not included). Switch turns on the top lights only, bottom lights only, both top and bottom, and off. Fixture measures approximately 22″ across and about 18″ tall from bottom of cones to the loop on top of center wooden pole. Chain with cord is just under 16 feet long. Could easily be converted to a chandelier / ceiling fixture if desired. Cosmetically it shows some wear from age, with a few rough edges around the glass shades, and a couple of spots and marks here and there – nothing too bad. See photos for more detail. You can attach the coat hook to your wall using the 2 holes in the metal. The black area is made from metal and is sturdy and strong but very slightly worn. A fabulous original pair of early 70s atomic/utility look bedside tables by Bath Cabinet Makers. Made in a simple pared down bent wood design with powder coated painted finish in the palest of grey(almost white)colours. The top is finished in a thick heavy teak wood with wrapped edges back and front. The design is low and wide & has a slight front tilt (seen from the side)and a floating base , giving a designer space age look. They are in very good overall condition. There are a couple of slight misses to the front handle edge on one table(barely noticeable). Also a slight stain on the top of one. The inside of the drawers have signs of wear but are clean and complete(a paper liner to the base would rectify this)Made In the UK.
