That perhaps you’d want to jump in… The mid century was alive and well in Miami Beach and the futuristic patterns of barkcloth made their way into the Art Deco hotel scene in the 50’s as it did everywhere. So by the time I made it to the abandoned hotels in South Beach circa 1988… Many of the hotels still had all their contents in tact… And it looked like I described above… Tropical draperies with club chairs inn atomic patterns… Headboards recovered in atomic mid century patterns beside existing deco textiles.
