In New York’s mid century halcyon days, there were a number of entrepreneurial and creative artists making a niche for their works! While some artists scored the NY gallery circuit with the right connections or benefactors, others tried a different tact, and worked with the sizable interior decorator community in Manhattan. These artists worked with decorators to give them exceptional deals on cutting edge artwork that made a statement and with imposing pieces scaled to the NY penthouse market! Two of the most successful were “Ran Su” and Robbie. Ran Su worked with woods and Robbie with metallic finishes for the utmost in rich, posh urban art.
