Mid-Century Retro Atomic Sputnik Tambour Roll Top Sewing Craft Box Cabinet. In good overall condition. One of the inside tray has been reglued as shown. Top of the sewing box has light wears. Little knocks on handles. And small split on the bas of the box as shown. Tiny bit wonky could probably be solved by swapping legs. The box will be send with the legs unscrewed as shown in the Last picture. Must have had “stabilizer” at the end of each leg. Beautiful mid-century vintage, large solid oak wood roll top tambour sewing or craft box cabinet in a beautifully retro, Danish design with carry handles and tall tapered legs complete with two internal trays. The corded roll top slides around the. Whole of the sewing box body. In two directions revealing. The extremely clean and quite large interior which features two, dove-tailed, sliding and lift out , compartmented trays handy for small items and a generous storage area underneath. Of fine design, quality wood and excellent craftsmanship, difficult to find nowadays this is a rare and hard to find mid-century sewing box that looks amazing on display! It is in excellent condition and working order, all original, very solid and sturdy with a lovely wood colour, and patina, no chips, cracks or restorations and only very light cosmetic signs of use. The roll top moves freely and smoothly, all parts (roll top wooden handles, roll top slats etc) are perfectly attached in place and the interior is extremely clean. Please see photos for details of condition. 56cm (22 inches) by 35.5cm (14 inches) and 56.5cm (22 inches) high including handles and legs; each tray is 29cm (11.5 inches) by 14.5cm (5.75 inches).
