Vintage Double Gooseneck Metal Adjustable Lamp Mid Century Modern 1950s Atomic
Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage atomic era adjustable double gooseneck lamp. Circa’50s /’60s. The shades are pierced metal, and they’re conical in shape. Attached to the upper side of each shade is a wooden accent piece (see photos). The on/off rotary knob switch is located on the round metal base at the bottom, and it provides for three different settings: each shade can be lit individually, or a third twist can light them both up at the same time. Unbranded insofar as we’ve been able to detect. With the shades pointed outward at a 90 degree angle to the flexible gooseneck stems, the lamp stands approx. Including the wooden accent pieces at the top of each shade, each measures approx. 8.75″ long x 4-3/8″ in diameter. The round metal base at the bottom measures approx. 5.25 in diameter. Condition: Overall, the lamp is in good condition for its age. It does have some minor cosmetic stuff worth mentioning, most notably a previous owner appears to have drilled two small unevenly spaced holes into the base (see photos). We’re not certain if this was done to try to modify the lamp to hang on a wall or what the case may be, but that’s our guess. They don’t particularly detract, but they are there. Not sure, but perhaps they can be filled in somehow. Otherwise, the lamp just shows signs of general light wear from age and use. The shades show some minor tarnishing in spots, but barely anything. There are no dents, dings, repairs, etc. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working order.
