VTG Atomic Mushroom Table Lamp Red White BHS 1970s Mid Century 70s Pop Art UFO. Original 1970s red metal lamp with acrylic shade that rests on the base. The origin of this lamp is probably from The Netherlands or Belgium, the design is clearly influenced by Italian designs such as Guzzini and has a great retro 60s mod vibe. Very cool red plug fitting also. Great vintage condition but does have a flaw on the shade where there is a dent from the shade melting slightly from too high wattage bulb being used previously. Unfortunately some scratches to the acrylic shade also as shown, which only show up when the light is turned on. Some nibbles to the bottom edge of the acrylic where the shade fits onto the base as shown. A couple of small scratches to the metal base as shown. There is texture variation on the enamel base around the switch where the enamel is not in perfect condition, not visually detracting overall in my opinion. Cord is in great condition no nicks etc and very clean apart from a couple of red scuff marks to it. Despite flaws is still absolutely wonderful and a very unique piece. Vintage 50s 60s Adjustable Metal Wood Atomic Era Floor Lamp Mid Century Modern
Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a cool vintage metal and wood adjustable atomic era floor lamp. Circa’50s /’60s. The lamp features three pierced conical shades that can pivot / rotate at their connection points. Each of the metal shades is adorned with a wood accent piece along the top surface (see photos). The lamp has three-way functionality: one turn of the rotary knob switch allows the top and bottom shades to light up together, another turn of the switch will allow the middle shade to light up on its own, and a final turn will light up all three shades at the same time. The on/off rotary knob switch is located on the vertical column (see photo). Measurements: The lamp stands approx. 62.25 tall measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the vertical bar. Each shade measures approx. 10 long (measured from the top of the wooden accent to the edge of the shade opening at the bottom). The round metal base at the bottom of the lamp measures approx. Condition: There are no breaks, repairs, etc. The lamp is in good condition for its age, but it does have some cosmetic issues that we will mention. First off, the shades shows loss of the gold coloration in areas. The metal underneath is a silver color, and it shows in those areas (see photos). This can easily be remedied with a fresh coat of paint, or it can be left alone. We chose to leave it in the condition in which it was acquired. The wooden accent pieces at the tops of each of the shades could use a gentle polishing, but they do display fine as they are. The round metal base at the bottom of the lamp shows signs of tarnishing, mainly around the edges (see photo). Again, we chose to leave it as it was acquired, but it can easily be repainted, if desired. Each of the shades pivots / turns well at their connection points. The electrical wiring is in good shape – there are no frays, splits, exposed and/or brittle wires. The lamp is in 100% working order. Vintage Glass Table Lamp White Mushroom 60s 70s Mid Century 1970s. Made in England, Marbo is written on part of the cord but I’m unsure if this is just the maker of that piece of the cord or the lamp maker. Brilliant condition no chips or cracks, the only flaw is that the cord is quite stained and the little plastic circle that the cord comes out of the lamp from is loose so can be pulled out, this isn’t dangerous it’s just the plastic that keeps that bit in place, does push back in but the plastic has been squished so comes out easily. Vintage 50s 60s Pink Brass Metal Atomic Lamp Mid Century Modern Fiberglass Shade
Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage atomic era table with its original accompanying double-tier fiberglass shade. Circa’50s /’60s. The lamp base is a pink ceramic, and just above that there is a brass metal atomic accent piece between it and the light socket. The fiberglass shade is double-tiered, and pinkish in color with curly fibrous filaments randomly scattered throughout. There is a standard on/off rotary knob switch that is located by the light socket. With the shade attached, the lamp stands approx. The distance measured from the bottom of the base to the light socket is approx. The atomic brass accent piece measures approx. 8″ tall x 6″ wide x 6 deep. The double-tier fiberglass shade measures approx. The upper, small tier measures approx. 13 in diameter, and the larger, lower tier is approx. Condition: Overall the lamp is in very good condition for its age – there are no chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. There is a small amount of tarnishing to the lower edge of the base at the very bottom (see photos) – we did not attempt to clean or polish this in any manner. The fiberglass shade is free from rips, holes, tears, creases, burns, etc. The lacing is old and brittle in spots. While it is together for the most part, there are some areas where the lacing is coming undone (not the holes that the lacing goes through). If desired, it can easily be re-laced, and we’d be happy to do this for the purchaser at no extra charge. This didn’t bother us, so we left it as it was acquired. The electrical wiring appears to be original to the lamp, with no visible issues – no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working order. As with all vintage lighting, we always strongly urge having the item checked out by a licensed electrician prior to long-term use, just to be safe. PLEASE NOTE: This lamp is large and fragile. Lamp stands 24 and 7/16 inches from bottom of base to top of yellow glass finial. There are no chips, cracks or brakes. The lamp works but it is good practice to change older cords.
