Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a nice atomic era vintage tripod table lamp with accompanying vintage shade manufactured by Lightolier.. Circa’50s /’60s. The legs are constructed of brass with wood accents (looks like walnut). The shade is a cardboard like material, and it has a wheat pattern running throughout it. Measurements: With the shade attached, the lamp stands approx. 24 tall (to the top of the finial). The distance to light socket from the bottom of the base measures approx. The shade alone measures approx. 8 tall, with a diameter of approx. 14″ across the top, and 15″ across the bottom. Condition: The lamp is in good condition given its age. The brass shows signs of light tarnishing – we have not attempted to clean or polish it in any way. The wood accents on the legs are in great shape – no chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, scratches, etc. It could perhaps benefit from a gentle polishing, but again – we chose to leave it in the condition in which it was acquired. The shade is in very good condition – no rips, holes, tears, breaks, etc. There is an area on the inside of the shade where there is some sort of spotting (see photo) – we didn’t attempt to clean it. It does not show through to the outside of the shade when the lamp is on or off. The electrical wiring and socket are original to the lamp. The wiring is free from having any problems – no frays, splits, exposed wires, etc. Before long-term use, we only strongly recommend having a licensed professional check the wiring for any problems. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition as it is. Please ask them and we will respond back to you in a timely manner. Nice rummage sale find! First, let’s talk dimensions. The shade is 18″ diameter across the bottom and 15 1/2″ across the top. It’s just over 28 at the finial. It is, by my research, Lightolier. I do not know the designer. The condition is very good. There are no serious marks or defects or damage. The color is a restrained -black and gold(bronze). The brass and acrylic ball ornament is classic mid century atomic. Fun yet sophisticated, this lamp would look great in the most upscale, MCM room.
