Vintage 50s 60s Metal Table Lamp Mid Century Modern Atomic Era Retro Lighting
Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage atomic era table lamp. Circa’50s /’60s. It features a round metal disc at the base, with three (3) evenly spaced metal cylinders that project upward, each ending in a round gold metal atomic ball. The brass metal socket cup that surrounds the actual light socket has five-pointed star cut-outs (see photos); we believe this is to allow the light to shine out from the holes when the lamp is turned on. We are uncertain as to the maker – the lamp does not appear to be signed, and there are no labels. There is no shade present – that’ll be left up to the purchaser to provide on their own. It’ll make a great addition to any mid century modern or atomic-themed home! The lamp stands approx. 20 tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the brass cup surrounding the light socket). The round metal base measures approx. 7.5 in diameter. The brass cut surrounding the light socket measures approx. 3.75″ tall x 4.25″ in diameter (measured across the top opening). Condition: Overall the lamp is in very good cosmetic condition, but it does have some wear that we’ll mention here. First off, the lamp needs to be rewired as it is not in working order at the moment. It’s a simple and inexpensive job that can be tackled by any licensed electrician. The round base at the bottom may have been repainted at one point in time – there are some minor flakes to the color that is currently there (see photos). The brass cup surrounding the socket is very slightly out of round at the top edge (see photo). It’s not really noticeable, but we are mentioning it for accuracy. Aside from that, the lamp is very presentable and is ready for a new home! Stunning mid century Lebus dressing table atomic retro vintage
A stunning mid century Lebus dressing table in walnut and teak. This is a beautiful mid century piece of furniture, featuring a stunning outsize oval mirror which tilts at two angles, suspended over the piece in the fantastic atomic age styling of the time. The dressing table is in excellent vintage condition. There are three spacious, dovetail-jointed drawers to the right, under a useful surface area, each with a rocket shaped brass handle. To the left is a further surface area underneath which is a long, spacious drawer, again featuring the atomic rocket shaped handle. On this surface area a suspended glass shelf sits atop a brass rocket-shaped column, providing extra storage and display options. Mounted on atomic hardwood legs, the unit is solid and stable, as well as fantastically stylish! Perfect for any mid century modern styled bedroom and home, this dressing table is in very good condition throughout, including the mirror and glass areas. Length – 120.5cm. Vintage Majestic Fiberglass Lamp Shade Mid Century Modern 50s Atomic Lighting
Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage fiberglass lamp shade fitting for your Majestic lamp that lacks a shade. Colors: Beige, Black and Gold. 9″ tall x 18″ in diameter (top) x 19 in diameter (bottom). Condition: Overall, the shade is in good condition – there are no rips, holes, tears, burn marks, repairs, etc. There is some mild discoloration on the fiberglass, mainly towards the back to the side of the seam (see photos) – we did not attempt to clean the shade in any manner, so we’re uncertain if it’ll come out but it should with some mild detergent (see photos). It doesn’t particularly detract, but it is being mentioned for accuracy. The lacing appears to be original, and it is intact. As always, thanks for looking! Vintage Mid Century Modern Floor Lamp Wood Brass Atomic Era 1950s 60s Majestic
Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a cool vintage mid century modern atomic era floor lamp. Circa’50s /’60s. No labels are makers marks present, but we think it might have been manufactured by Majestic. The lamp consists of brass tubing with a long boomerang-shaped accent piece running up the center. The lamp has three cylindrical shades set at staggering heights at the top. The shades look to be constructed of fiberglass with a cloth-like beige material over the fiberglass (see photos). Each of the sockets has its own on/off pull chain switch which can control each socket independently from the others. It’s a handsome looking lamp that’ll make a splash in any mid century modern or atomic themed home! With the three cylindrical shades attached, the lamp stands approx. 64.5″ tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the upper-most shade), 59.75″ tall (to the top of the center shade), and 54 tall (to the top of the lowest shade). The distance from the bottom of the base to each of the light sockets, highest to lowest, is 55″, 50″ and 45 high. The central wooden accent piece measures approx. The base at the very bottom of the lamp measures approx. 14″ wide x 8″ deep. Each of the cylindrical shades measures approx. 12″ tall x 4.5″ in diameter. Condition: The lamp base is in very good condition, while the shades are in fair condition. The base itself is free from chips, dings scratches, repairs, etc. The brass tubing is free from rust and oxidation. We have not attempted to clean or polish the base components in any way as we feel they display nicely in their current condition (examine the photos that accompany the listing). The shades show some rippling and waves in the fiberglass material (again, see photos). One of the upper frame rings on one of the shades is also coming loose a little. If we were purchasing the lamp for ourselves, we would use the existing shades as templates to have new ones made. That’s not to say that the existing shades don’t display okay – they’re just not perfect… We’re mentioning all of this for accuracy. The electrical wiring looks to be in very good shape – there are no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires, etc. As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having the wiring checked by a licensed professional prior to long-term use.
