Vintage 1950s Ceramic Metal Lamp Fiberglass Shade Mid Century Modern Light AS-IS
Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a super cool vintage ceramic and metal atomic era table lamp with its accompanying original fiberglass shade. The base is a maroon color, and below it hangs a round, spherical gold metal ball. The shade is fiberglass, and is beige in color with gold circles (see photos). The shade design mimics the round atomic ball at the bottom of the base. We are uncertain as to the maker – there are no labels, tags or otherwise present. Measurements: With the fiberglass shade attached, the lamp stands approx. The distance from the bottom of the base to the light socket is approx. The ceramic base alone measures approx. 8.25″ tall x 11″ wide x 4.25 deep. The round spherical metal ball that hangs under the ceramic base measures approx. The fiberglass shade measures approx. 16″ tall x 9″ in diameter (top opening) x 10.5 in diameter (bottom opening). Condition: The lamp is in okay condition, but does have cosmetic flaws, all of which we think are fixable – we just. Have the time presently to take on any projects. Are crack lines and a few small shallow chips in the ceramic (see all photos). These look like stress cracks to us. Everything appears to be stable – it. Look as though someone tried repairing and gluing the ceramic back together. Our guess is the lamp probably sustained a bang. It results in stress cracks. We think the small shallow chips can be filled in, everything sanded down, and then a fresh coat of paint can be applied – this would. Remedy the condition issue. Again, it’s doable if you have the time and are looking for a project. The only other thing that we can see that is wrong is the plug on. Of the wire needs to be replaced – it currently has. Black tape wrapped around it. In it’s current state, it still functions, but we definitely recommend having a licensed professional inspect it before long-term use. As for the fiberglass shade, it’s in great shape – no rips, holes, tears, burn marks, repairs, etc. The lacing appears to be original, and it is intact. This lamp is b. Vintage Mid Century 1950s Atomic Geometric Heavy Ceramic 21” Table Lamp 4.6kg
Fabulous and completely original Mid Century c1950’s table lamp. Attic find from a recent house clearance, that was much more’70’s /’80’s in style, we were very pleasantly surprised to find this well hidden amongst the old 1950’s radios, cameras and suitcases etc etc in the loft, where it had clearly been for decades. Stands approx 21” to the top of the fitting. Heavy and quite impressive ceramic lamp at approx 4.5kg, with a wooden base and neck which is not dissimilar to the style of an atomic dansette leg. We’ve given it a good general clean, but there’s no plug on the original non earthed wiring. We’ve left the fitting as found, but it will need rewiring. Has some scuffs to the cream ceramic – no actual chips or damage, but may benefit from a little paint tidy up to show it at it’s best. 8 Vintage Mid Century Atomic Era Style Sascha Brastoff Zypher Luncheon Plates 9. Brastoff described his rare Zephyr dinnerware pattern as: Airy wisps in gold and blue on ombre grey matte. These vintage Mid Century luncheon plates measuring a little shy of 9 in diameter were designed in California by renouned artist by Sascha Brastoff. This is the ZYPHER pattern, hand painted pattern features a soft matte gray circular spiral which gets lighter going toward the center, with cosmical shapes and gold dot accents. Marked on the underside with the Sascha Brastoff name and rooster maker’s mark, Fine China, California USA. Condition: Very, very good. No chips, cracks or repairs. Vintage 50s 60s MCM Metal Atomic Drink Ashtray Smoke Stand Mid Century Modern
Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a fantastic vintage atomic era free-standing drink carrier and ashtray. Circa’50s, and all original! There is a carrying handle at the top just above the ashtray, and two drink holders that flank either side of the ashtray. It still retains all of the original black caps on the ends (handle, legs and ashtray supports – see photos). We are uncertain as to the maker. It’ll make a great addition to any mid century modern atomic-themed interior setting. 19.5 tall (measured from the ground surface to the carrying handle just above the ashtray). The distance between the front leg and the two back legs is approx. 13 on each side, while the distance between the two back legs is approx. The rounded ashtray is approx. 5 in diameter, while the two drink holders on either side measures approx. 3″ in diameter x 3″ high. Condition: Very good condition. Vintage 1960s Telescoping Lightolier Lamp Mid Century Modern Atomic Lytegem Lax
Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage telescoping LYTEGEM orb lamp designed by Michael Lax for Lightolier. The vertical metal stalk is telescoping which enables the orange orb shade to be set at different heights. The shade itself is also adjustable; it can pivot from side to side. The one/off switch is located on the base, and it allows for different intensity settings. The base is marked “Lightolier”, as is the underside of the base (see photos). With the shade extended to full height, the lamp stands approx. The bark base at the bottom measures approx. 2.5″ tall x 2.5″ wide x 2.5 deep. Condition: The lamp is in excellent condition – there are no chips, cracks, breaks, dents, dings, repairs, etc. The electrical wiring looks to be original to the lamp, and it is in good shape – no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires.
