Roger Feraud – Astrolabe – Coat/Hat Stand. By GEO – 1950s. An ICONIC Atomic-Space Age Design – with more than a touch of Gallic Elegance & Design Flair. These Provide a Very Stylish Key Design Element to any Mid-Century Interior. And now difficult to source – even in France – and especially so, Post-Brexit. Bought during a holiday in the South of France in 1996 (and – a pig to get back to the UK I can recall :). And carefully stored-unused ever-since? ! And in very good++ and entirely original condition. The elegant original gilt globes are luckily un-painted/’restored’ (a common fault) – and with just with an attractive sparkle-patina for authenticity. The frame also is in its original satin black, which remains in good condition with absolutely no corrosion. Also, the ball feet are all present & perfect too. With this example the feet are less splayed – Apparently to reduce its footprint for a narrower hallway/space (a factory option). With all the legs being an even height – and. Even in France these stands typically retail at 1k+ Euros – when you can find them. And naturally, if you are in London you’re welcome to come and view – Just call: 07890195351. Fabulous and sensitively restored with it’s original atomic dansette wooden legs. We have fully stripped the tired thin fabric away and removed the old flat interior replacing it with a high quality foam to replicate the original dimensions. The legs were stripped, stained black, polished black, waxed & the metal feet cleaned. As with all old furniture there will be some age related wear “patina” to the metal feet. The upholstery is in a luxurious blue black Abraham Moons wool with black velvet piping. Such a beautiful large footstool ready for it’s forever home. I also I offer my customers a fabulous bespoke restoration service so you can restore your own furniture or furniture sourced by me to perfectly co-ordinate to your own colour scheme. Seat H 33cm, W 62cm, D 40cm, all measurements are approximate. Highlands and Islands will cost more, this price is just an estimate, it may cost less.
