XL 1960s / 70s Geometric Op Art Space Age Fabric Mod Retro Textile Wall Hanging
Iconic designs produced by talented designers during the Mid Century period featured bold colours and geometric shapes that were so evocative of the era. This striking textile panel features original vintage fabric designed by Margit Steiner in the 1960s / 1970s and has a real Atomic, Space Age feel about it. I have shown the panel hung in two ways as it gives a different effect depending which way you hang it. The panel has been made with original vintage Mid Century fabric stretched over a new wooden frame. The fabric is in good vintage condition, however, being over 50 years old it does have a few imperfections. The colours throughout are still deep, bold and bright. There is slight discolouration to some areas and pin hole size white specs in the fabric visible up close. The selvage containing the designer and pattern names has been left visible along one edge (please see pictures). The wall hanging is hand made, and measures approximately 90cm x 95cm.
