A stunning pair of Mid Century Italian Chrome lamps. Each have three eyeball spotlights – they have a multi way switch so you can have one, two or all three on at any time. I believe these to be by Torino although there are no markings. The base is white ply with baize on the bottom – this is worn and ripped. They each stand approx 31 inches. There is some pitting and speckles of rust as to be expected – the inside of the eyeball shades have surface rust. These are vintage and although can be seen clearly working they should be checked over by a qualified electrician. Two of the bulb holders have some movement – this does not affect the use. These are absolutely amazing. I will include the bulbs but really they would look even better with silver topped bulbs or larger spotlight bulbs. A stunning & very unusual 1960’s sideboard. Finished in a veneered teak wood with contrasting black edges & pale lilac formica details, and sitting on a solid black wood frame with stylish v shaped legs. There’s loads of storage space with a shelved cupboard to the right opening with sliding doors, 4 atomic pattern lined drawers to the middle with 2 formica & tile lined drop down cocktail cabinets, and a useful console table area to the left end. The whole unit is handbuilt & appears to be a one off custom piece with no makers mark present, it’s an amazing piece of furniture & will make a real statement piece for any retro lounge. Measurements Of The Item (Approx). W: 229cm, D: 48cm measured at the left section or 43cm measured at the right, H: 89cm at the highest point, 80cm towards the right section and 29cm at the left end. In excellent used condition, a clean & well looked after piece, very solid and heavy, all drawers & doors work fine & it sits well with no wobbles. The lower dropdown door has had a previous repair at the hinge as shown but it’s all fine now, there’s a very tiny chip towards the back right edge, some slight darker patchy marks to right side as shown & the odd minor knock/mark from general use but overall a stunning piece ready to use! ANGELO LELLI FOR LAUREL LAMP! A TOUR DE FORCE OF ITALIAN MID CENTURY LIGHTING! DIMENSIONS: Lamp: 21″ Tall Width 16″. After the Italian Triennale of 1953, where modern Italian Lighting took center stage, Laurel Lamp. Company decided they were not going to be left behind. They had been the premier high end lighting. Company since the late thirties and now Lightolier was cutting into their sales! So, they penned contracts with Angelo Lelli of Arredoluce and the famous Gio Ponti, who was a mid. Century renaissance man and also the editor of the Italian home magazine, DOMUS. Angelo Lelli’s Three armed, primary color floor lamp had been the star of the Italian Triennale. And the name stuck – people started calling the 3-swing arm floor lamp a Triennale! Laurel Lamp had Lelli pen a number of 3-arm lamps for them, this one – a triumph of Italian style! Three graceful arms curve up and are crowned with primary color shades! Only a few hundred of these lamps were made for high end clients and their interior decorators. And perhaps a dozen survive today! This lamp is gorgeous and has the finest in technology that was available at the time! Switch on the base permits the lighting of one two or all three shades! Furthermore, a dimmer on. The cord permits the adjustment of the lighting of those shades – from barely perceptible to. Perfect for creating DRAMATIC interior lighting! Light years ahead of its time! This measures 25 tall and the drum shade measures one foot across. The base is bright chrome tubing with a frosted acrylic drum shade. Original electrical wiring looks in fine condition and works as it should. Original chrome pull chain offers 3 pull settings for a 3-way bulb. This also has it’s original top white painted metal defuser, use with or without depending on how you like your light. The defuser disc is slightly warped, but has no wrinkles or bends in the metal just a light warped appearance. Fits as it should under the original finial. The defuser has a few minor paint scrapes. The socket frame up inside has a bit of the white paint flaking off (see photos), easily touched up, but does not show when the lamp is displayed. The shade seems perfect, no cracks or scratches that I can find at all, very clean and not discolored from age any off color in photos is strictly my lighting, not discoloration of the shade. It is a nice thick heavy acrylic. The chrome is quite clean with only the smallest amount of oxidation and maybe a few very light scratches to the surface that would likely polish off. This is an absolute stunner and extremely rare to find in this condition! Here we have not just a brutalist wall clock, but one of the finest and most eye-popping brilliant brutalist wall clocks of all time! The look of raw slate, accented with fossils from the paleozoic era and all wonderfully textured and detailed in a sea of ridges, crevices and uneven edges is a tour de force of raw brutalism! How rare is it? We have only encountered one other in over fifteen years! And this one is in much finer condition! This is an absolutely incredible find! Original electric movement working well.
