Meant to tug heart strings and open minds in a way that allowed the love of mid century modernism to sink in as it was sweeping the nation… This fabric is from the early 50’s to 1957… A ecru off creamy beige ground… Darkest teal turquoise emerald green… Darkest nearly black chocolate bordering eggplant… Yes it truly is… A nice nubby barkcloth… While it started its life as a drapery panel it remains strong… One for the serious modernist collector. 2 Vintage mid century atomic cotton barkcloth fabric drapery panels curtains
Lots of great antiques and vintage textiles, jewelry, paper and more being listed this weekend from a fine antique estate I acquired recently! Here is a pair of truly remarkable mid century barkcloth drapery or curtain panels! Each unlined drape measures 57 long and 25 1/2 wide. They have openings for your curtain rods with narrow hems all around. Sorry my photos aren’t better; overcast skies make good natural light photos hard to capture! The close ups are taken near a window and best show the fabulous design and colors! Ground is white with amazing gray, taupe and black orbits with red squiggles! Rare and gorgeous fabric in excellent condition! No stains odors or problems! If you didn’t need these as window treatments, fabric would be so great for upholstery projects, pillows, totes, etc. SO much finer than shown on this overcast day!
