Majestic Boomerang Z Lamp 50s Retro Mid Century Atomic Modern Rare Luxcraft
This rare and stunning lamp was made by Majestic in the late 1950’s, and is their best looking (in my opinion) lamp design. The two boomerang shaped wood and brass base pieces are finished by large trapezoidal fiberglass shades that give the entire piece an inverted triangular look. It’s in pretty good condition all around, but unfortunately has a small hole in the top shade on one side (see photos). It’s not particularly noticible unless you’re looking for it though. The lacing is also pretty dry, and is starting to crack in a few places, which is common on these lamps. The lamp is quite large, and measures 34 tall, 24 wide, and 8.5 deep. I’m including two new led bulbs, which light up individually, and together on the lamp. Everything works perfectly, and the cord is still nice and pliable. Wonderful biomorphic design from the 1950’s! There is a mark on the base, but I can’t make it out. Lamp and switch works. It is about 25 tall and wide, with the shades on. The shades are held in place by clipping onto the bulbs and hanging. Lacing on the shades was disintegrating, so I replaced it with NOS lacing. The finish is original, but has flaked off as shown. We are offering for sale a vintage MAJESTIC table lamp/light with molded textured shades.. Exact age and origin unknown but has an unusual Mid Century Modern ATOMIC design… Love the ORIGINAL shades! SIZE:: 31″ high overall x 14 1/2″ at widest x 6 3/4 diameter base. CONDITION:: Overall good used vintage condition.. Shows some appropriate use wear and age.. Wiring intact and should be checked for safety before use.. Base appears to have been tactfully painted at one time and a new switch inserted. One shade has a couple broken lace along seam.. One has a very minor tear that is barely visible – see pics.. This is a vintage light with original shades. They are not perfect and show some age but in beautiful condition.. All sales are final..
