Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a seldom seen atomic tripod lamp designed by Ferris-Shacknove. Circa’50 /’60s. The lamp base is constructed of iron with small wooden atomic ball feet. The shade is constructed of textured cotton over paper. We have included an advertisement from an old Furniture Forum catalog for reference (see photo). It’s a stylish atomic lamp that’ll look fantastic in any mid century modern setting! With the shade attached, the lamp stands approx. The shade alone measures approx. 7″ tall x 16″ in diameter. The distance from the bottom of the base to the light socket measures approx. The distance between each of the atomic ball feet measures approx. Condition: Overall, give its age, we’d say the lamp is in very good condition. Aside from the light bulb socket being a little loose and needing some tightening, the base is free from having any issues. It is structurally solid, and displays very nicely. The shade is original to the lamp. It has some minor faint areas of discoloration (possibly old moisture marks or something of that nature). We have not attempted to clean the shade in any manner, so we are uncertain as to whether or not they’ll come out. The shade can easily be turned to have those marks facing the back (see photos). The electrical wiring looks to be original to the lamp, and it is in good condition – no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition. As with all vintage lighting, we always strongly recommend having a licensed electrician inspect the wiring prior to long-term use. The lamp is b. All sales are final. Great Mid century piece. Has small crack on one side. A little corrosion in battery compartment, but still works. Runs on 2 “D” batteries (not included). Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage Majestic table lamp with its original accompanying fiberglass shade. The lamp takes on an atomic / floral or tree-like appearance. Materials: Wood, Brass, Fiberglass. The lamp has a total of six (6) sockets: there are two (2) main sockets at the top, and four (4) smaller sockets within each of the brass cups. The on/off rotary knob switch is located embedded in the wavy wooden base at the bottom. The lamp has three-way functionality… With one simple twist the two main light sockets will light up. With a second twist, those will shut off and just the four smaller bulbs will illuminate. And finally, with a third twist, all six sockets can light up together. As is characteristic with Majestic lamps, this lamp still retains its original old green felt on the underside of the base. We did not attempt to remove or disrupt it in any way, so there could very well still be a Majestic label hanging out under there. This lamp will make an excellent addition to any mid century modern interior. With the fiberglass shade attached, the lamp stands approx. 30 tall measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the finial. The wavy rectangular base measures approx. 15.5″ wide x 5″ deep x 2.25 tall. The fiberglass shade measures approx. 22″ wide x 9.25″ deep x 7 tall. The distance from the bottom of the base to the two main light sockets is approx. The four smaller light sockets measure approx. 19″ on each side for the higher ones (measured from the bottom of the base), and 12″ on each side for the lower ones (measured from the bottom of the base). Condition: With the exception to paint loss and some small scattered paint flecks on the wavy wooden base at the bottom, the lamp is in great condition. It can very easily be repainted, but we decided to just leave it in the condition in which it was acquired. The brass shows a nice patina that is commensurate with age. There is no rust, oxidations, etc. There are no chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. The fiberglass shade is also in great shape – no holes, tears, punctures, burn marks, etc. The lacing appears to be original, and it is intact. All six (6) sockets are in working order -the lamp is in fully-functioning, working order. As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having a licensed professional inspect everything prior to long-term use. Please ask them and we will respond back to you in a timely manner.
