Vintage Original 1950s 60s Mid Century Modern Retro Atomic Burst Light Fixture
MEASUREMENTS- 13 7/8″ diameter/squared x 7 1/2″ tall from ceiling to bottom of finial. Very retro original 1950s-60s atomic era glass light fixture. The light is in nice working original condition. There is some age ware/patina on the gold finial and a few specks on the shade that looks to be slight imperfections but extremely small and minor. The ceiling cap has a few paint chips along the top rim but overall the original paint polished up very nicely. The 3 bulb socket works great. The bursting stripes are a golden shimmering crystaline textured enamel adding a gorgeous effect when lit. Overall a beautiful surviving original piece for your 1950s-60s room styling project. An original display poster from BP – printed in the 1960s by Beric Press Ltd, Crawley, who set up business in 1964 and carried on into the 1970s. It is a great graphic design, very mid-century Atomic, with all the different uses of petroleum on a mid-grey background. The poster is a large size, approx. 77cm wide by 57.5cm high. It is vintage, but is in excellent condition, I can’t really see any signs of wear although the poster is vintage and has been stored. Please take a look at the photos as they best show the condition. A great example of mid-century Petroliana Art – Automobilia interest/Transportation/Petrol/Oil – Perfect for a garage/man cave/study or any room really! Ceiling Light Original Atomic 1960’s MCM Skittle White Glass Pendant Black Lined
An Vintage Moulded Glass Atomic Era Sputnik Ceiling Light Pendant. The light has an original cased glass “Skittle” shaped Lampshade with a narrow top – The colour is white with hand applied black linear detailing. A real Mid Century Modern design piece in VGC for age. The light is complete with some of its original fittings and original mounting. The shade is held in place by a retractable metal tripod mount which allows the shade to “float” when hung. The three metal tripod arms can be retracted back allowing the shade to be removed for cleaning etc. The original Philips BC bulb holder is included, the earth point has been replaced with a modern version and the light also has a modern cord grip and brass mounting. Cable is brand new and earthed and the light works perfectly. Also included is a modern pressed brass ceiling rose with a cord grip. The light looks great when lit and produces a bright and interesting lighting effect. Please see my images for the best details. Longest Drop is 140 Cm – Max Shade Diameter is 17 Cm – Shade height is 35.2 Cm. Condition is very good, the light works well and is free of damage. A couple of very small marks from age along with marks in the glass and decoration from manufacture and the odd glass bubble. General signs of age. Bulb holder & Wiring are new & earthed. ANGRY ROBOT- 16″x20″ Original Acrylic painting by Michael Prestage (2011). Highest quality acrylics on archival canvas, pre-wired, ready-to-hang! This is an original acrylic painting featuring an incensed retro robot of yore. Meticulously rendered in the most intense, custom-mixed red and blue primaries imaginable. The end result being nothing short of eye-popping. This one is inspired by midcentury style and decor. Actual canvas size 21x 25cm. I prepare my own canvasses by hand. 5-6 layers of gesso primer, sanded in between. Beautiful one of a kind mid century atomic style painting on canvas, unsigned and undated (1950s/1960s era). The piece is framed in a thin solid wood frame with gold-tone edging. The background is a mixed dark green color. The image is white, blue, and pink. The painting can be hung in any direction and highlights different features as it is turned. It is pictured here vertically and appears as a clown, or a jester at the top. There is a spot on the left side that looks like a dog’s face. It is a dynamic and visually stimulating painting that can be looked at over and over again, with new images appearing all the time, the kind of artwork that truly challenges the viewer and enriches the space. The piece belongs in a foyer or large wall, the statement piece in a modern home, hotel, office building, or restaurant.
