Vintage 50s 60s Brass Metal Lamp Glass Shades Mid Century Modern Lighting Atomic
Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a cool vintage doubled shaded brass / metal table lamp. Circa’50s /’60s. Each of the rounded shades has its own socket on the interior, and there is a textured round glass insert that rests on the bottom of each. The shades are open / exposed from the top. The shades are also pierced, which allows for light to shine out from the small holes (see photos). The lamp has a standard rotary knob switch which is located on the back side of the base, and it allows for 3-way functionality: one or the other sockets can be lit independently of the other, or a third twist sets them both to illuminate at the same time. We are uncertain as to the maker – no labels or tags present. There is felt on the underside of the base that is intact – we didn’t attempt to remove it to see if there are any labels underneath. A great lamp that’ll look fantastic in any setting! The lamp stands approx. 17.25″ tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the top of each of the rounded shades) x 18″ wide (measured from the rim edge of one shade to the rim edge of the adjacent shade). The round metal base at the bottom measures approx. 5″ in diameter x 2.5″ tall. Each of the round brass shades measures approx. 6″ in diameter x 3″ tall. Condition: Overall, the lamp is in very good condition. There are no dents, dings, breaks, repairs, etc. Each of the shades shows some superficial scratch marks / color loss (see photos for examples) – they don’t particularly detract, but they are there and are being mentioned for accuracy. The glass inserts that rest on the inside bottom surfaces of the metal shades are both in great shape – no chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. The electrical wiring appears to be original to the lamp, and it is in good shape – no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working order. Vintage 50s Metal Table Lamp Planter Fiberglass Shades Mid Century Modern Atomic
Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a cool vintage atomic era table lamp with original matching fiberglass shades. The base is constructed of metal. There are two curvy brass tubes which lead up to the two light sockets. Beneath the shades, but just above the round metal base, there is a round hollow cup that accommodate faux plants. The cup is also removable. The exterior color of the cup and base at the bottom are a pinkish color. There is a round ornate brass plate that is affixed to the top of the base at the bottom. The fiberglass shades are matching. Each is a beige color with thick gold and white brush strokes throughout (see photos). There is an on/off rotary knob switch that is located on the bottom base. It allows for 3-way functionality of the lamp: Either of the two sockets can be lit independently of the other, or a third twist of the rotary knob can allow for both sockets to be lit up at the same time. This groovy lamp will make a nice addition to any mid century modern or atomic-themed home! With the fiberglass shades attached, the lamp stands approx. 29″ tall x 18.5″ wide. Each of the shades measures approx. 7″ tall x 10″ in diameter. The round planter cup measures approx. 4.5″ tall x 5″ wide x 5 deep. The bottom of the base at the bottom measures approx. 5.5 in diameter. Condition: Overall the lamp in in very good condition for its age. There is some scattered paint loss here and there – it can easily be touched up or left alone – we chose the latter. The inside of the removable metal plant cup shows some signs of surface rust (see photo) – again, this can easily be touched up or just left alone. If you are going to put faux plants inside it, you won’t even know the difference. The lamp could use a general cleaning. The metal components appear to be free from dents, dings, repairs, etc. The fiberglass shades are in very nice shape – they are free from rips, holes, tears, burn marks, etc. There are some light marks on the fiberglass material that are consistent with age, and they should come out with a gentle cleaning. The lacing appears to be original to the shades, and it is intact. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition. Materials: Ceramic, Metal and Fiberglass. Colors: Gold, Turquoise, Beige and White. The ceramic bases are matte, with the exception of the gold accents, which are shiny. The back and front of the bases also have an overlay of random white paint splatter, as well as on the lamp shades. Just above the ceramic portions of the bases, and just below the light sockets, is a curly metal atomic accent piece (see photos). The shades are an unusual shape (see photos). They are turquoise in color, and have random white paint splatter throughout. The on/off toggle switch used to control the lamp is located at the light sockets. Rare and unique set of 3 Mid Century milk glass suspended ceiling Light Shades. Great mid century atomic graphics. Very good condition – no chips or cracks and graphics nice and bright. Each is approx 12 inches high x 6.5 inches diameter. Originally had brass bulbholders and metal caps but these did not have earths so do not comply with current regulations I have included 3 new Chrome BC bulbholders. The inside of the removable metal plant cup shows some signs of surface rust (see photo) – again, this can easily be touched up or just left alone. If you are going to put faux plants inside it, you won’t even know the difference. The lamp could use a general cleaning. The metal components appear to be free from dents, dings, repairs, etc. The fiberglass shades are in very nice shape – they are free from rips, holes, tears, burn marks, etc. There are some light marks on the fiberglass material that are consistent with age, and they should come out with a gentle cleaning. The lacing appears to be original to the shades, and it is intact. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition. Fantastic Pair Vintage 1950s Atomic Lamps Mid Century Modern Fiberglass Shades
Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a fantastic set of vintage atomic era table or bedside lamps, complete with their original clip-on fiberglass shades. Materials: Ceramic, Metal and Fiberglass. Colors: Gold, Turquoise, Beige and White. The ceramic bases are matte, with the exception of the gold accents, which are shiny. The back and front of the bases also have an overlay of random white paint splatter, as well as on the lamp shades. Just above the ceramic portions of the bases, and just below the light sockets, is a curly metal atomic accent piece (see photos). The shades are an unusual shape (see photos). They are turquoise in color, and have random white paint splatter throughout. The on/off toggle switch used to control the lamp is located at the light sockets. This is a very cool pair of lamps that’ll look great in any mid century modern setting – make them yours! With the shades attached, the lamps stand approx. 20 tall (measured at the highest points on the shades at either side). The ceramic base measures approx. 7.25″ tall x 9″ wide x 3 deep. The fiberglass shades alone each measure approx. 9.75″ tall (measured at either side) x 9″ wide x 7 deep (measured at the center across the top). The curly metal accent pieces each measure approx. 4.5″ wide x 4.5″ deep. Condition: Both lamps are in excellent, immaculate condition – there are no chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, scratches, etc. The fiberglass shade are also in great shape – no rips, holes, tears, burn marks, repairs, etc. The lacing looks to be original to the shade, and it is intact. The electrical wiring looks to be original, is in in good condition – there are no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires, etc. The previous owners took really great care of this set! Vintage Mid-Century lamp pair fiberglass shades 1950s atomic MCM
They measure about 24 inches high. The shades are 8 1/4 wide by 6 1/2 deep. The one shade has some wrinkles. I did not try to take them out I know there are ways to do it with a steam iron.
