This rare mid century Stiffel table lamp was available for a season before being discontinued. Stiffel spent a lot on the design of these lamps and each part is a unique casting – just for this lamp! Everything about this lamp is spectacular! The base is one of the rarest Stiffel bases of all – featuring engraved and enameled white stylized’stars’ that were the epitome of mid century style! It is curved and sculpted and they will never make lamps this well again! It cost them a fortune to manufacture! The middle accent is wonderfully curved and thick! This lamp is pure atomic age eye candy from top to bottom! It is stately with style! But because this lamp cost so much to make – only relatively few were manufactured making this Stiffel lamp the hardest to find and acquire. We haven’t seen another in over a decade. It’s that rare. Good design is one of those things that’s hard to quantify. However, it takes just one look to know when an object possesses it! This lamp, in a single glance, epitomizes the good design that went into mid century Stiffel lighting! Some tarnish to the brass finishes. Features a single socket. EXTREMELY RARE ORIGINAL CHARLES & RAY EAMES MID-CENTURY ATOMIC SPUTNIK CHROME MAGAZINE RACK. A Genuine Charles and Ray Eames ICONIC Design – A RARE Find Indeed! Would Make a FANTASTIC PRESENT FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS EVERYTHING! This is the Real Thing. It’s such an Iconic design, with colourful lollipop knobs and of the same era as the’Hang it all’ coat rack. In Fantastic Condition and complete with the original rubber feet. There is one very minor sign of wear – a small crack in one of the knobs, measuring about 1cm (see last enlarged photo) but this doesn’t even show unless really scrutinising and doesn’t in any way detract from the immense charm, and scarcity, of this wonderful piece.
