Mid Century Eyeball Atomic Recessed Ceiling Light Fixture Working As Found
A true Mid Century Modern era working recessed atomic style eyeball ceiling fixture. A great way to highlight a special space, artwork, shelves or collection. The light works and accommodates a standard size base light bulb. The fixture is all original and is shown in one photo as working. The fixture is wired for a hard-wired installation. The light has older cloth covered stranded copper wire that appears to be in good condition. The center grill / diffuser is removable for changing the bulb by compressing edge tabs. The eyeball itself rotates an estimated 45 degrees to the right or left. If installed oppositely, it will then rotate about 45 degrees either up or down. The entire fixture measures 8 1/4 inches in diameter. The movable center “eyeball” portion measures 4 inches in diameter at the front grill. The length of the fixture is 7 inches deep. The single socket is porcelain and appears original to the light.

RARE Vintage 1960s Eyeball Space Age Atomic Lamp – Mustard Yellow. Rare vintage mid-century eyeball atomic lamp. Fully tested and working. Unbranded, possibly made by British design Pifco. Made with metal, feels quite heavy and appears very well built. The colour is a mustard yellow, chrome trim. H 22cm W 13cm, base diameter 10cm. The chrome is showing signs of age and could do with some attention. It comes with a UK plug and takes B22 bulb fitting (included). Maximum wattage is most likely 40W or even 60W. Vintage eyeball / atomic lamps made in the 1960s by BJS in Skellefteå in northern Sweden. BJS is likely Bäcklunds Järn och Smide (roughly Bäcklunds Iron and Smithing/Forging). They are made from brass and can be angles in different directions. One of them has a repair with a metal washer at the base of the neck, as seen in the last picture. Apart from that they are in good condition with only minor wear. The price is for the pair. Standard E26/E27 lamp sockets. The lamps have European standard power plugs.

RARE Vintage Mid-Century Eyeball Space age Atomic Lamp 60’s 70’s – Dark Burgundy. No dispatch can be made between Dec 21-Jan 3. Rare vintage mid-century eyeball atomic lamp, highly collectable. This iconic piece is made with metal, feels quite heavy and appears very well built. The colour is a very deep burgundy or a very dark reddy brown, a fantastic contrast to the silver chrome. It comes with a UK plug and takes B22 bulb fitting; the bulb shape / size could be GLS or golf ball depending on preference. In my photo, the lamp is fitted with a B22 golf ball (LED 5W) as I prefer the look of a recessed bulb. Here are some approximate measurements: 10cm base diameter, 22cm height, 13cm width. Condition : Very clean, well preserved and in working order. Generally it is in very good used vintage condition showing some expected signs of cosmetic wear, which may include. Patina to the chrome and a few. Minor imperfection to the paint work, also the wire appears yellowy from age but it could be replaced if so desired, please see photos. This lamp comes from a very clean home, pet and smoke free. Item will be very well packed for safe transit, bulb is NOT included. Please see other quality items, thanks for looking.
