Vintage MCM Fiberglass Shade Double Tier Mid Century Modern Atomic Era 50s
ITEM : For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage double-tiered fiberglass lamp shade. The fiberglass is a beige color with random fibrous filaments running throughout the material (see photos). Unbranded – we do not know the maker – no labels or tags present. MEASUREMENTS : The shad is approx. The smaller, upper-tier is approx. 13 in diameter, while the larger lower tier is approx. 16.5 in diameter. CONDITION : Good condition, but not entirely perfect. There are a few chips in the fiberglass material at the metal rings where the lacing is. They don’t appear to be affecting the structural integrity of the shade, but they are there. Luckily they aren’t terribly noticeable (see photos). Next, there are appear to be two darkened areas on the fiberglass towards the lower edge of the upper tier (see photos). They are towards the back, so they aren’t readily noticeable. We’ve included photos of them with the shade illuminated as well, so please check them out. Lastly, the shade could benefit from a gentle cleaning – we just decided to leave it in the condition in which it was acquired.
