Few TINY spots of rust as shown in pics on the chrome of one lamp. One plug end has been changed at some point over the years as shown. Cleaned , tested and working. If using as bed side reading lamps, glass shades rotate to allow brighter light through the clear section. Please look closely at pictures for condition. Diameter of cylinder 3-3/4. Cord length 67 to end of plug. Long tube style bulbs should be used 25W or 40W not included. It’s like a green ceramic space station, speckled with white, with a space-age tower reaching up into space! This awesome old lamp is 21 inches in height at the top of the socket, and about 9 inches wide. There are a couple of marks on the ceramic, which you can see in the photos, that are far less noticeable in real life- in fact I had a hard time finding them just now when looking for them. An extraordinary piece of 1950s atomic lifestyle design by Swedish designers Uno and Osten Kristiannson for Luxus. Large, 6 globe chandelier. Very good vintage condition. Materials: Oak and opaline glass. Approximate measurements: 47 inches x 15″ x 13″. Luxus was founded in 1950 by Uno Kristiansson. At that time, the range consisted of home and interior lamps, furniture and mirrors. The products were designed by the two brothers Uno and Östen Kristiansson. In 1966, the furniture design became incorporated into Östen Kristiansson AB (Okabe), when he took over his fathers business Vittsjö Furniture, established in 1919. During the 1950s collections were launched in Sweden and internationally. Examples are the textile lamp shade Texolux, and the ceiling lamp Plafo in acrylic with a wooden cross which was added with variations. In 1968, Luxus presented collections in bright colours and textile designed by Marjatta Metso Vaara. From the 1970s, activities focused on the development of lighting in acrylic for public environments. Lamp series like Arkitektura, Candus, Skulptura, Discus, Pinus and Rustikus were designed for this purpose. The experience and developments made by the company has always been a part of the designing process and the manufacture of luminaries.
