Vintage/Retro Style Rocket Lamp. A beautiful retro rocket lamp, iconic design piece sitting on 3 teak legs with a long spun fibreglass shade in purple. Very rare colour as most of the earlier models were in yellow/orange. It’s thought that this one is a later piece, believed to be found in an unsold batch of old shop stock but they hadn’t yet been built so they have now been fitted with brand new light fittings & bulbs ready for sale. Mid Century Modern Atomic Rocket Pink Black Vintage Table Lamp Fiberglass Shade
Lamp to top of socket: 21.75. Lamp to top of finial: 28. Weight (not including cord or shade): 4 lbs. Tall, 15.25 wide. This lamp has an amazing design, with a rocket-shaped piece of ceramic and a black wire base that makes it look like it is blasting off. The ceramic is white with a pink splatter all over it. It also has some random black marks scattered around. It has been tested to make sure it works, and is set for a three-way bulb. Based on the parts, I would date it to the 50’s or 60’s. It has an older style harp that isnt removable, and the cord looks original. The socket may have been replaced at some point, but I’m not sure. The ridged neck piece above the ceramic is crooked, and has likely been that way for a long time. Removing the harp means the box size wouldn’t need to be as tall. The tan colored fiberglass shade shows it’s age. The larger tier has a 3 wide impression that isn’t too obvious (circled in a photo). The rawhide or leather string has dried out over time, leading to cracks in the string or missing string entirely. The bottom of the shade is restrung with a thin black string, and the top of the shade also has a black string reinforcement. _gsrx_vers_827 GS 7.0.13 (827). Vintage Danish Mid Century MCM Walnut Teak Brass Atomic Rocket 3 Prong 33 Table Lamp. Statement piece walnut table lamp. I’ve seen this lamp or very similar attributed to a few different manufacturers/designers & did not see a sticker or signature on this one. On and off switch controlled by a walnut pull attached to the brass rod in the center of lamp. At one point it looks like there was an inner lampshade attached to the center rings by the small clamps in the photo’s. It has since been removed & has been used with a regular lamp shade seen in last photo shade not included in sale. There is remnants of tape on the center circles & some tarnishing on the brass (photo’s). The very top edge facing up of the walnut lamp is not as smooth as the rest of the lamp (photo).
