Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a cool vintage Nutone wall hanging clock. Circa’50s /’60s. The clock face is metal, with a perforated off-white screen to which the red and black hour markers are attached. The movement hands are metal. The clock is marked “Nutone” on the front face towards the 6 o’clock position at the bottom. 7.75″ x 7.75″. There are a few minor cosmetic flaws that we’ll mention here. First off, there is what appears to be some residual paint along the outer edges of the clock (see photos) from where it was hanging. This can easily be cleaned off with a little effort – we just left it in the condition in which it was acquired. On the perforated off-white portion of the clock face, just under the 12 o’clock marker, there are a few ever so slightly larger holes. Not sure if this was a way to hold the clock in place, or if it was a slight imperfection in the metal when the clock was manufactured – either way, when hanging on a wall, it isn’t all that noticeable, but we wanted to mention it for accuracy. The clock hands, and the hour markers, show signs of some color loss (see photos). Aside from that, the clock could benefit from a gentle cleaning. The clock is in working order – it keeps accurate time and runs quietly – just needs to be hard wired into its new location, and it is ready for use. As with all vintage electronic items, we always strongly encourage buyers to have a licensed professional inspect the item prior to long-term use, just to be safe.
