WOW! Vintage 50s Chalkware Lamp Fiberglass Shade Mid Century Modern Atomic Era
Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale an incredibly cool vintage chalkware table lamp complete with its original double-tier fiberglass shade and atomic finial. The base is constructed of chalkware, and is curvy like a snake. The front and back surfaces are textured in beige and gold, while the remainder of the chalkware body is turquoise in color, with the exception of the base, which is black. The double-tier fiberglass shade is beige on the larger tier, and turquoise with black and gold accents on the smaller upper tier. The finial is brass and is atomic in design. The lamp has a standard on/off rotary switch located at the socket which is used to turn the lamp on/off. We are uncertain as to the maker. It’s a definite statement piece that’ll make a splash in any mid century modern interior setting! With the double-tier fiberglass shade attached, the lamp stands approx. 35.25 tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the atomic finial). The distance from the bottom of the base to the light socket is approx. The chalkware portion of the lamp measures approx. 21.5″ tall x 10″ wide (measured at the bottom of the base) x 5.25 deep. The double-tier fiberglass shade measures approx. 8″ tall x 18″ in diameter (measured across the top tier) x 20 in diameter (measured across the bottom tier). Condition: Given it’s age, we’d say the lamp is in very good condition with only minor cosmetic wear… There are no major chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. The black portion of the base at the bottom shows a few edge paint flecks. Also, the top surface looks like the black coloration is worn on both sides – a fresh application of black paint will remedy that, or it can just be left alone – we chose to leave it in the condition in which it was acquired. The fiberglass shade is also in great shape – no rips, holes, tears, burn marks, repairs, etc. The lacing looks to be original to the shade, and it is intact. The electrical wiring looks as though it was probably replaced at one point in time – it’s in very good shape – there are no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires, etc. As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having the wiring checked by a licensed professional prior to long-term use. Fantastic Pair Vintage 1950s Atomic Lamps Mid Century Modern Fiberglass Shades
Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a fantastic set of vintage atomic era table or bedside lamps, complete with their original clip-on fiberglass shades. Materials: Ceramic, Metal and Fiberglass. Colors: Gold, Turquoise, Beige and White. The ceramic bases are matte, with the exception of the gold accents, which are shiny. The back and front of the bases also have an overlay of random white paint splatter, as well as on the lamp shades. Just above the ceramic portions of the bases, and just below the light sockets, is a curly metal atomic accent piece (see photos). The shades are an unusual shape (see photos). They are turquoise in color, and have random white paint splatter throughout. The on/off toggle switch used to control the lamp is located at the light sockets. This is a very cool pair of lamps that’ll look great in any mid century modern setting – make them yours! With the shades attached, the lamps stand approx. 20 tall (measured at the highest points on the shades at either side). The ceramic base measures approx. 7.25″ tall x 9″ wide x 3 deep. The fiberglass shades alone each measure approx. 9.75″ tall (measured at either side) x 9″ wide x 7 deep (measured at the center across the top). The curly metal accent pieces each measure approx. 4.5″ wide x 4.5″ deep. Condition: Both lamps are in excellent, immaculate condition – there are no chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, scratches, etc. The fiberglass shade are also in great shape – no rips, holes, tears, burn marks, repairs, etc. The lacing looks to be original to the shade, and it is intact. Super Cool Vintage 50s Ceramic Lamp Fiberglass Shade Mid Century Modern Atomic
Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a super cool vintage atomic era ceramic table lamp complete with its original trapezoidal-shaped fiberglass lamp shade. Circa’50s /’60s. The ceramic base is brown in color with scattered white accents (see photos). The base also has a striated texture throughout. The fiberglass shade is beige in color, as is typical from lamps of this era, and it has black, gold and white randoms painted arcs on it throughout. The finial for the lamp is an amber colored glass ball, and we are assuming that it is original to the lamp as well. We are uncertain as to the maker – there are no marks, labels, or tags present. This lamp will make a great addition to any mid century modern or atomic-themed home! With the shade attached, the lamp stands approx. The ceramic alone measures approx. 14.5″ tall x 12″ wide x 5.75 deep. The shade alone measures approx. 7″ tall x 13″ wide x 8 deep. Condition: The lamp is in very good condition for its age. The ceramic base is free from chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. The fiberglass shade is free from rips, holes, tears, repairs, burn marks, etc. All of the lacing is intact. The shade shows light traces of wear that are consistent with age and use. The bottom edge of the fiberglass material shows very mild discoloration – our guess is it should come out with a gentle washing. We have not attempted to try to clean it any way as it is minor and doesn’t particularly interfere with any thing. The electrical wiring appears to be original to the lamp, and is in good shape – there are no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires, etc. As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having the wiring checked by a licensed professional prior to long-term use. The fiberglass shade is double-tiered, and pinkish in color with curly fibrous filaments randomly scattered throughout. There is a standard on/off rotary knob switch that is located by the light socket. With the shade attached, the lamp stands approx. The distance measured from the bottom of the base to the light socket is approx. The atomic brass accent piece measures approx. 8″ tall x 6″ wide x 6 deep. The double-tier fiberglass shade measures approx. The upper, small tier measures approx. 13 in diameter, and the larger, lower tier is approx. Condition: Overall the lamp is in very good condition for its age – there are no chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. There is a small amount of tarnishing to the lower edge of the base at the very bottom (see photos) – we did not attempt to clean or polish this in any manner. The fiberglass shade is free from rips, holes, tears, creases, burns, etc. The lacing is old and brittle in spots. While it is together for the most part, there are some areas where the lacing is coming undone (not the holes that the lacing goes through). If desired, it can easily be re-laced, and we’d be happy to do this for the purchaser at no extra charge. This didn’t bother us, so we left it as it was acquired. The electrical wiring appears to be original to the lamp, with no visible issues – no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working order. Vintage 50s Metal Table Lamp Planter Fiberglass Shades Mid Century Modern Atomic
Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a cool vintage atomic era table lamp with original matching fiberglass shades. The base is constructed of metal. There are two curvy brass tubes which lead up to the two light sockets. Beneath the shades, but just above the round metal base, there is a round hollow cup that accommodate faux plants. The cup is also removable. The exterior color of the cup and base at the bottom are a pinkish color. There is a round ornate brass plate that is affixed to the top of the base at the bottom. The fiberglass shades are matching. Each is a beige color with thick gold and white brush strokes throughout (see photos). There is an on/off rotary knob switch that is located on the bottom base. It allows for 3-way functionality of the lamp: Either of the two sockets can be lit independently of the other, or a third twist of the rotary knob can allow for both sockets to be lit up at the same time. This groovy lamp will make a nice addition to any mid century modern or atomic-themed home! With the fiberglass shades attached, the lamp stands approx. 29″ tall x 18.5″ wide. Each of the shades measures approx. 7″ tall x 10″ in diameter. The round planter cup measures approx. 4.5″ tall x 5″ wide x 5 deep. The bottom of the base at the bottom measures approx. 5.5 in diameter. Condition: Overall the lamp in in very good condition for its age. There is some scattered paint loss here and there – it can easily be touched up or left alone – we chose the latter. The inside of the removable metal plant cup shows some signs of surface rust (see photo) – again, this can easily be touched up or just left alone. If you are going to put faux plants inside it, you won’t even know the difference. The lamp could use a general cleaning. The metal components appear to be free from dents, dings, repairs, etc. The fiberglass shades are in very nice shape – they are free from rips, holes, tears, burn marks, etc. There are some light marks on the fiberglass material that are consistent with age, and they should come out with a gentle cleaning. The lacing appears to be original to the shades, and it is intact. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition.
