Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a super cool atomic era table lamp complete with its original double tiered fiberglass shade. Circa’50s /’60s. Manufactured by Deena China. Materials: Lamp base is brass, ceramic (china). The shade is fiberglass. The shade is green in color, and it has black and gold paint brush stokes throughout the exterior surface. The lamp operates with a standard rotary knob switch that is located at the socket. It’ll make a fabulous addition to any mid century modern interior! PLEASE NOTE : We have a second matching lamp that we will be listing separately once this one sells. If you are the winning purchaser to this lamp, and you are in the market for a second, please message us at the close of the listing. Measurements: With the shade attached, the lamp stands approx. 34″ tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the finial) x 17″ wide x 17 deep. The distance from the bottom of the base to the light socket is approx. The art pottery portion of the base alone measures approx. 11″ tall x 4″ wide x 4 deep. The round brown metal base at the bottom of the lamp measures approx. 6.25 in diameter. The double tier fiberglass shade measures approx. 11 tall, with the smaller upper tier measuring approx. 13″ across the top opening, and it tapers down to 8″ across the bottom opening of the tier. The lower tier is uniform in diameter, and it measures approx. Condition: The lamp is in good condition for its age, but it is not perfect. With a little TLC, it could be fixed up quite nicely. With respect to the base, the ceramic portion is in excellent condition – there are no chips, cracks, breaks, scratches, repairs, etc. The brass components show signs of tarnishing, most noticeably on the round brass base at the bottom. This can easily be swapped out for a new base, or it can be painted. It doesn’t appear to have any dents or dings on it – just discoloration. As for the shade, it’s in overall decent shape, but has a few notable issues. First off, the smaller upper tier has a hole and a puncture in it (see arial photo provided). Luckily, it can only really be seen if you are looking at the shade from above. When looking head-on at the shade, the hole and puncture are hidden from view because they are blocked by the lower tier. In addition to that, some of the lacing is missing; however, the holes are still intact. The lacing can easily be replaced as the holes it goes through have not been compromised. The shade could use a gentle cleaning – we have not done anything in an attempt to clean and/or polish the lamp – it is being presented for sale in the exact condition in which it was acquired. The electrical wiring appears to be original, and is in good shape – no frays, splits, exposed and/or brittle wires. While the lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition, we always will recommend having a licensed professional inspect the item prior to long-term use. Vintage 50s Stars Planets Ceramic Metal Table Lamp Mid Century Modern Atomic Era
Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a fun vintage table lamp that was manufactured by Robert’s Ceramics (Brooklyn, NY). Circa’50s /’60s. The lamp is constructed of a ceramic orb that rests atop a black metal wire cage. The ceramic orb has a celestial / atomic theme – with stars and planets hand-painted in black against a white background. The lamp has a round brass base at the very bottom. There is a standard on/off toggle switch that is located at the socket which is used to control the lamp. It’ll make a great addition to any mid century modern / atomic-themed setting! The lamp stands approx. 22 tall (measured from the bottom of round brass base to the top of the finial). The distance to the light socket is approx. The round ceramic orb is approx. The round brass base at the very bottom of the lamp is approx. 5.25 in diameter. Condition: The lamp is in decent condition with some minor cosmetic stuff which we’ll mention below. The black paint on the wire in missing in scattered spots throughout, and could benefit from a simple touch-up of paint in those areas. The round brass base at the very bottom shows signs of light tarnishing / discoloration in spots. We have not done anything in an attempt to clean-up or polish this area (see photos). The ceramic orb shows signs of light crazing which is consistent with age – no chips, cracks, breaks. The lamp is free from dents, dings, breaks, repairs, etc. The electrical wiring appears to be original to the lamp, and it is in good shape. We would still strongly recommend having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use as the lamp is vintage, just to be safe. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition in its current state. Please ask them and we will respond back to you in a timely manner. Vintage Mid Century Modern Western Ranch Cattle Skull Atomic Biomorphic Ashtray
I have only seen one or two of these ashtrays ever, and they both seem to come from an Awards company in Great falls Montana. Beautiful Mid century modern biomorphic fluid amoeba style designed ashtray adorned with a cattle skull. This is a classic style seen in the Montana areas at Dude Ranches, and in western style mid century ranch homes. Ashtray is stunning and very hard to find, as I said, I have only come across one other and that was about 18 years ago. If you happen to furnishing your home in the western mid century ranch style, this will compliment any room. I obtained this from the son of the original owner, who received this as a gift from his employer in the early 1950s. Please see photos, as they are considered part of the description.
