Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale an incredibly cool vintage chalkware table lamp complete with its original double-tier fiberglass shade and atomic finial. The base is constructed of chalkware, and is curvy like a snake. The front and back surfaces are textured in beige and gold, while the remainder of the chalkware body is turquoise in color, with the exception of the base, which is black. The double-tier fiberglass shade is beige on the larger tier, and turquoise with black and gold accents on the smaller upper tier. The finial is brass and is atomic in design. The lamp has a standard on/off rotary switch located at the socket which is used to turn the lamp on/off. We are uncertain as to the maker. It’s a definite statement piece that’ll make a splash in any mid century modern interior setting! With the double-tier fiberglass shade attached, the lamp stands approx. 35.25 tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the atomic finial). The distance from the bottom of the base to the light socket is approx. The chalkware portion of the lamp measures approx. 21.5″ tall x 10″ wide (measured at the bottom of the base) x 5.25 deep. The double-tier fiberglass shade measures approx. 8″ tall x 18″ in diameter (measured across the top tier) x 20 in diameter (measured across the bottom tier). Condition: Given it’s age, we’d say the lamp is in very good condition with only minor cosmetic wear… There are no major chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. The black portion of the base at the bottom shows a few edge paint flecks. Also, the top surface looks like the black coloration is worn on both sides – a fresh application of black paint will remedy that, or it can just be left alone – we chose to leave it in the condition in which it was acquired. The fiberglass shade is also in great shape – no rips, holes, tears, burn marks, repairs, etc. The lacing looks to be original to the shade, and it is intact. The electrical wiring looks as though it was probably replaced at one point in time – it’s in very good shape – there are no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires, etc. As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having the wiring checked by a licensed professional prior to long-term use. This MCM atomic lamp is a very stylish retro light that will complement any vintage 60s decor. This gorgeous red lamp with its ivory beige spun fibreglass shade has tons of charm and would look gorgeous as a bedside light in a vintage setting, or in a lounge with a more modern contemporary look as an eye catching statement piece. This vintage atomic style red lamp probably dates from the late 1960 s and when found was still in very good condition and still had its original single core cables. There were some chips to the original paint which have been blended out using an extra fine polishing paste so to as retain its originality and the wire legs sympathetically cleaned. Here’s a great 1950’s atomic style glass and metal lamp with it’s original nubby painted fiberglass two tier shade. This measures 26″ tall to the top of the shade finial, the lower tier of the fiberglass shade measures 15.5″ across. The shade is fantastic condition, the only thing I can fault it with is some old original glue residue at the seam (I believe this is factory glue) and it has some dust in the nooks and crannies. The top egg shaped hollow metal ball shows age appropriate surface tarnish and oxidation as does the metal base. These still display well as is or you might decide to paint these parts back to a chrome or gold finish. The glass part of the base is reverse painted in flecked pink, black, white and gold and is really striking! No damage to this portion or show of age because it is painted from the inside. The original cord is in fine condition and it works. It has a three way switch. This displays beautifully just as it is or jazz it up with some fresh shiny metallic paint on the metal parts to make it look like the day it was made! I generally do not entertain best offers until my items have been listed for over a week. Atomic Mid Century Modern Table Lamp with lovely Fiberglass Shade. A fantastic Piece of mid century lighting with on off white fiberglass shade with gold and black abstract lines. The stitching is solid and intact. The base is a smattering of pink and gold, and black and gold with gold trim around the base and the center of the black/gold disk. It is in very good condition. I see 3 nicks of gold missing from around the top rim of the base. The former owner held the felt bottom on with masking tape that is dried and will need some Goo Gone if you want to remove it. I’ve had the lamp here for a good long time and never found them a distraction but I will leave it to you. If you remove them you will have to glue the felt to the bottom. 25 tall to the top of the finial. 18 wide (diameter of shade). 6 in diameter (the base of the lamp). The shade is 6½ tall. Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a fantastic vintage atomic-era ceramic table lamp with its original accompanying fiberglass shade. The base is ceramic, and is pink in color with gold flecks throughout. There is a metal atomic accent piece just below the socket that rests above the ceramic portion of the base. The ceramic portion rests atop a brass metal base at the very bottom. The fiberglass shade is double-tiered – with the larger top tier being a pink color, and the lower smaller tier being an off-white color. The lamp has a standard on/off rotary knob located at the socket. On the back side of the lamp, there is a signature impression in the ceramic towards the base that we are unable to make out (see photo). It’s a killer lamp that’ll look great in any mid century modern or atomic themed home! The lamp stands approx. 30 tall with the shade attached. The distance from the bottom of the base to the light socket is approx. The ceramic portion of the base measures approx. 12.5″ tall x 7″ wide x 6 deep. The double tiered fiberglass shade measures approx. 22.5″ wide x 11″ tall x 12 deep. The round metal base at the very bottom measures approx. Condition: Overall the lamp is in very good condition for its age. The base is free from c chips, cracks, breaks, scratches, repairs, etc. The round metal portion of the base at the very bottom of the lamp shows a little color loss, but nothing that we’d consider alarming or that takes away from the presence and display of the lamp. The fiberglass shade is in great shape as well – no rips, holes, tears, punctures, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. The lacing appears to be original to the shade, and it is intact. The electrical wiring appears to be original, and is in good condition – no frays, splits, exposed wires, etc. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition. As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having the wiring checked by a licensed professional prior to long-term use. Please ask them and we will respond back to you in a timely manner.
