The motor casing is made of cream Bakelite with a large cream Bakelite dial at the back to select the fans speed. There are three black rubber blades. The motor casing and head are fixed to a foot made of a chrome rod and fitted with four black rubber rings acting as feet. It is possible to adjust the angle of the fan. The original AS label is present on a label underneath the Bakelite motor casing and stamped on top of the casing. The Desk Fan is in very good condition and in full working order. As with all vintage electrical equipment, it is advisable to have it checked by a qualified electrician. Although we strive to give as accurate a description as possible, patina and age-related wear are to be expected. However, we will always indicate any noticeable defects. The beautiful and elegant AS fan shows influence by the 1930s Streamline design movement. It would make a wonderful addition to a modern/retro interior and would be perfect for a childs bedroom as the rubber blades are safe for little fingers.
