Direct from the artist (me). My works appeared on TV (Grand Designs, dramas Annika and Guilt) and are in collections throughout the UK and abroad, some in high places. This one is inspired by midcentury style and decor. Actual canvas size 21x 25cm. I prepare my own canvasses by hand. 5-6 layers of gesso primer, sanded in between. Each painting takes about a week to complete. All ideas come from my head and not from reference to other people’s work. Oil on canvas board. Each work is truly unique and each is a one-off. This stunning 19th-century French sterling silver centerpiece bowl, crafted by the renowned silversmith Alphonse Debain, features exquisite detailing and fine craftsmanship. The bowl is circular with a flat base and is beautifully adorned with intricate decorations, including cartouches, rocaille motifs, scrolling vines, and delicate foliage. It rests on three gracefully curled feet, each featuring wide, leaf-shaped clasps for added elegance. One of the cartouches is engraved with a monogram in English letters, adding a personal touch to this sophisticated piece. Minerva 1st standard (guaranteeing the silver quality). Maker’s mark: AD with a woodcock (bécasse) for Alphonse Debain, a master silversmith active in Paris during this period. Diameter: 22.5 cm (8.86 inches). Excellent condition with only minor surface scratches consistent with age, preserving its overall beauty and charm.
