This set of five (5) Fred Parry, Mid Century Modern, Double Old Fashioned Glasses make a refined period statement. They are Gold and green on clear glass. On one side there is a dominant gold Starburst and on the other there is an eclipse. The decoration is in extra fine condition, though there may be de minimus scattered loss. They were designed and made by Fred Press, whose glass is a strong contemporary of Culver Glass. Given all the planets and space bodies here it is fair to call the design “Celestial” and because all things space travel and nuclear power were on the minds of the 1960s market into which these were introduced, it is also fair to call the design “Atomic”. They are strong representatives of Mid Century Modern MCM barware. Fred Press only placed “Fred Press” on the glasses it designated as “master glasses” within a set. On this score I have never been able to figure out the rhyme or reason. Some are signed, some are not. The design is consistent throughout the set. There is extra glass laid at the bottom of each to give them a nice, weighted feel, to accompany their full palm size. The mouth opening here is 3.75″ and the height is 4.375″. Fred Press gold decoration is 22K. They were made in the United States.

Mid Century Modern Antique Brass Sputnik atomic chandelier starburst light Fixture. This starburst light fixture is made with UL approved parts. It has 12 arms and measures 21 in diameter without light bulbs. It uses standard candelabra socket light bulbs. We recommend 8W to 15W max. Light bulbs are not included. We hand craft all of our light fixtures. This chandelier has been made with brass material. Premium quality mid-century sputnik chandelier. Made of pure brass in antique brass finish. Measurements is : 21″ x 21″ x 14 height. 4 center ball with 12 arms. 12 drop rod included. Chandelier used standard candelabra E1. Requires twelve (12) 15 watt bulb type A (not included). Socket rated with 125 voltage, 75 watt max. 7 watt to 15 watt bulbs are recommended. Incandescent Bulbs, Energy Saying, LED Bulbs.

An Vintage Moulded Glass Atomic Era Sputnik Ceiling Light Pendant. The light has an original cased glass “Skittle” shaped Lampshade with a narrow top – The colour is white with hand applied black linear detailing. A real Mid Century Modern design piece in VGC for age. The light is complete with some of its original fittings and original mounting. The shade is held in place by a retractable metal tripod mount which allows the shade to “float” when hung. The three metal tripod arms can be retracted back allowing the shade to be removed for cleaning etc. The original Philips BC bulb holder is included, the earth point has been replaced with a modern version and the light also has a modern cord grip and brass mounting. Cable is brand new and earthed and the light works perfectly. Also included is a modern pressed brass ceiling rose with a cord grip. The light looks great when lit and produces a bright and interesting lighting effect. Please see my images for the best details. Longest Drop is 140 Cm – Max Shade Diameter is 17 Cm – Shade height is 35.2 Cm. Condition is very good, the light works well and is free of damage. A couple of very small marks from age along with marks in the glass and decoration from manufacture and the odd glass bubble. General signs of age. Bulb holder & Wiring are new & earthed.
