An Vintage Moulded Glass Atomic Era Sputnik Ceiling Light Pendant. The light has an original cased glass “Skittle” shaped Lampshade with a narrow top – The colour is white with hand applied black linear detailing. A real Mid Century Modern design piece in VGC for age. The light is complete with some of its original fittings and original mounting. The shade is held in place by a retractable metal tripod mount which allows the shade to “float” when hung. The three metal tripod arms can be retracted back allowing the shade to be removed for cleaning etc. The original Philips BC bulb holder is included, the earth point has been replaced with a modern version and the light also has a modern cord grip and brass mounting. Cable is brand new and earthed and the light works perfectly. Also included is a modern pressed brass ceiling rose with a cord grip. The light looks great when lit and produces a bright and interesting lighting effect. Please see my images for the best details. Longest Drop is 140 Cm – Max Shade Diameter is 17 Cm – Shade height is 35.2 Cm. Condition is very good, the light works well and is free of damage. A couple of very small marks from age along with marks in the glass and decoration from manufacture and the odd glass bubble. General signs of age. Bulb holder & Wiring are new & earthed. This offering is for ONE unused unwashed original old stock yardage… When it comes to these prized tangible memorable pieces from the mid century… The 1950’s was rife with a myriad of textures and weights and varied textile experimentations… And this piece is no exception. A rayon cotton mix… Rayon with a tad bit of cotton for structure. A highly textured white ground with atomic mid century designs in Miami Beach colors…. Dove gray and deep dark charcoal bordering black… With a slight golden metallic… Measures 22 inches wide x 52 inches long. Colors are bold and bright and the white ground crisp and clean. But who wants to take a return right? So I do my best to add lots of photos that depict the weight and texture and do so thoughtfully so you are getting the most virtual experience. Vintage Sofono Space Master Heater Sputnik Atomic Grey Mid Century Working condition with original plug in pink. Great condition for the age has been used but largely stored for the last 20 years has some scratches and marks to the back enamel and some light rusting to the metal guard at front metal silver central panel is in good shape the feet are slim tapering metal rod shapes all working and present. There are a couple of marks on the grey enamel at front, but all in all is in very smooth complete and unscratched condition. Although we have tried to keep dust free in storage, there is a little dust under the grill however this should be able to be removed easily. Would make a brilliant piece for prop styling film prop. Will add a slick modern space age 50s retro-futurism design feel to any room. We advise to test this on your own or get it tested by an electrician before using with your sockets for compatibity.
