Vintage 1950s 1960s Ceramic Brass Lamp Atomic Era Mid Century Modern Lighting
Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale an unusual vintage atomic era table lamp that looks like a rocket getting ready blast off into space! Circa’50s /’60s. The base is constructed of a pierced brass component the rests just below the light socket. Beneath that there is a bulbous matte black ceramic component. The ceramic piece rests atop a brass accent piece which ultimately connects to the four atomic legs of the lamp at the very bottom. The lamp has a standard on/off rotary knob switch which is located at the socket. No shade present – that’ll be left up to the purchaser to supply on their own. It’ll make a nice addition to any mid century modern home or lamp collection. The lamp stands approx. 31.25 tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the finial), and approx. 23.25 tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the light socket). The distance between the two front and two back legs is approx. 6.75, and between the front and back legs approx. Condition: Overall the lamp is in very good condition. The brass elements show a nice gentle patina that comes with age. The ceramic portion shows a small light area which looks like a superficial scuff (see photo) – it doesn’t particularly detract, but we wanted to point it out for accuracy. The electrical wiring appears to be original to the lamp, and is in good condition – no frays, splits, exposed wires, etc. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition. Vintage 50s Brass Lamp Fiberglass Shades Mid Century Modern Atomic Era Lighting
Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage atomic era table lamp that dates back to the 1950s. Reminds us of a trident. The body of the lamp is brass, and it contains three fiberglass shades that are set at slightly different heights. They are set in place by being threaded to the exterior of the light sockets. The shades are each angled at the top (see photos). They are beige in color, and each has black and gold brush stroke patterns on them. The base of the lamp contains a rotary knob switch which allows for three-way functionality: either one shade can be lit, or with a second twist the other two shades, and a third twist allows for all three to light up at once. We are uncertain as to the maker as the lamp does not appear to be marked. A fabulous lamp that’ll make a welcome addition to any mid century modern interior setting! The lamp stands approx. 33″ tall to the top of the uppermost shade, 31″ to the top of the middle shade, and 29 to the top of the lowest shade. With the shades attached, the lamp measures approx. The round brass base measures approx. Condition: Overall the lamp is in good vintage condition. The brass rods show a nice patina that is commensurate with age. The round metal brass base shows signs of tarnishing throughout (see photos) – we have not attempted to clean or polish them lamp in any manner. The fiberglass shades are all in excellent condition – there are no creases, breaks, bends, punctures, burn marks, etc. The lacing appears to be intact on all three shades. The electrical wiring looks to have been replaced at one point in time, and is in great shape – no frays, splits, exposed and/or brittle wires. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition. The ceramic portion of the base measures approx. 16.5″ tall x 4.5″ in diameter. The round metal base at the bottom of the lamp measures approx. Vintage 1950s 1960s Ceramic Brass Lamp Atomic Era Mid Century Modern Lighting
Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale an unusual vintage atomic era table lamp that looks like a rocket getting ready blast off into space! Circa’50s /’60s. The base is constructed of a pierced brass component the rests just below the light socket. Beneath that there is a bulbous matte black ceramic component. The ceramic piece rests atop a brass accent piece which ultimately connects to the four atomic legs of the lamp at the very bottom. The lamp has a standard on/off rotary knob switch which is located at the socket. No shade present – that’ll be left up to the purchaser to supply on their own. It’ll make a nice addition to any mid century modern home or lamp collection. The lamp stands approx. 31.25 tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the finial), and approx. 23.25 tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the light socket). The distance between the two front and two back legs is approx. 6.75, and between the front and back legs approx. Condition: Overall the lamp is in very good condition. The brass elements show a nice gentle patina that comes with age. The ceramic portion shows a small light area which looks like a superficial scuff (see photo) – it doesn’t particularly detract, but we wanted to point it out for accuracy. The electrical wiring appears to be original to the lamp, and is in good condition – no frays, splits, exposed wires, etc. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition.
