Vintage Double Gooseneck Metal Adjustable Lamp Mid Century Modern 1950s Atomic
Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage atomic era adjustable double gooseneck lamp. Circa’50s /’60s. The shades are pierced metal, and they’re conical in shape. Attached to the upper side of each shade is a wooden accent piece (see photos). The on/off rotary knob switch is located on the round metal base at the bottom, and it provides for three different settings: each shade can be lit individually, or a third twist can light them both up at the same time. Unbranded insofar as we’ve been able to detect. With the shades pointed outward at a 90 degree angle to the flexible gooseneck stems, the lamp stands approx. Including the wooden accent pieces at the top of each shade, each measures approx. 8.75″ long x 4-3/8″ in diameter. The round metal base at the bottom measures approx. 5.25 in diameter. Condition: Overall, the lamp is in good condition for its age. It does have some minor cosmetic stuff worth mentioning, most notably a previous owner appears to have drilled two small unevenly spaced holes into the base (see photos). We’re not certain if this was done to try to modify the lamp to hang on a wall or what the case may be, but that’s our guess. They don’t particularly detract, but they are there. Not sure, but perhaps they can be filled in somehow. Otherwise, the lamp just shows signs of general light wear from age and use. The shades show some minor tarnishing in spots, but barely anything. There are no dents, dings, repairs, etc. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working order. As is the case with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having a licensed professional inspect the fixture prior to long-term use. Vintage 50s 60s Double Tier Fiberglass Lamp Shade Mid Century Modern Atomic Era
Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a nice vintage double tiered atomic era fiberglass lamp shade. Circa’50s /’60s. The fiberglass material is a beige color, and it has random squiggly fibrous filaments running throughout it (see photos). Uncertain as to the company that manufactured it. Measurements: The shade is approx. The upper, smaller tier measures approx. 13 in diameter, while the lower, larger tier measures approx. Condition: The shade is in very good condition for its age – there are no rips, holes, tears, creases, burn marks, etc. It looks to have been very well cared for over the years by its previous owners. We have not attempted to clean the shade in any manner – it is being presented for sale in the exact condition in which it was acquired. The lacing appears to be intact all the way around, so it does not need to be re-laced. The upper tier appears to have what looks like a small grommet or something of the sorts on the reverse side by the seam – looks to be intentional, perhaps to add extra support to the seamed seal, but we’re not 100% certain as we’ve never seen that before. Its on the reverse side and doesn’t appear to affect anything in terms of its visibility (it’s really small – see photos). Please ask them and we will respond back to you in a timely manner.
